| Summary: | The San Antonio Spurs won a double-overtime thriller Monday night in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 122-115. Leading the charge for San Antonio was 22-year-old Victor Wembanyama, who dominated from start to finish with a historic performance, finishing with 41 points, 24 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. He also joined Charles Barkley and Moses Malone as the only players to accomplish the feat in a conference finals game. ...After the game, Wembanyama was asked whether he felt like the best player in the world, especially after seeing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander receive the MVP trophy prior to tipoff. His response stood out for its composed, PR-savvy tone, something he can certainly relate to with Mahomes in that regard.... |
